Gideon

The lockdown is like a great space. The birds may not be singing so loudly now because there is less background noise, but we can hear them better. Saw a little finch trilling away yesterday evening.  Our world is having a breathe out. There is a stillness. Now maybe the time to connect with our own inner sense of peace.

When the relaxation of lockdown occurs I hope we can do stuff differently. It would be good if the ordinary peoples of this world united against the thieving, narcissistic, self-serving elites who greedily destroy and plunder the shared resource that is our home. This pandemic has shown clearly how disfunctional neoliberal capitalism is. The greedy war mongers who through their corrupt systems perpetuate mass murder, genocide, and mass extinction of non human species must be replaced. We need to be kind to each other and understand that we are a part of, and not separate from,  nature.

Maybe we can find a collective approach to living that empowers us all. To be involved in a society or a community where everyone feels listened to and addressed might work better than what we have now.  A new world needs to grow out of this dark time.  Blessings to you all.

  1. I agree. When we look back on this lockdown we’ll forget about the fear and inconvenience and talk of it as a rather magical time when the human world stood still.
An owl has started hunt in our village square in the day time. Goats have invaded the centre of Colwyn bay. The roads are so peaceful, there is no one on the beach. Listening to the dawn chorus it sounds as though the world is rewilding.

I, for one, am not looking forward to the return of the madness.
